About This Project

My goal is to create a comprehensive record that honours those who rest here while providing valuable genealogical and historical resources for researchers, family members, and the local community.

Through careful documentation of burial records, historical photographs, and community stories, I aim to preserve this important heritage for future generations.

One day I met Michael Finn in Templecurraheen, working in the graveyard. We got talking, and that conversation was the seed for this website.

Michael and his wife Cora Finn make a great team. Cora sought a way of cataloguing the site and organised a map, and as best as could be done, organised it into rows, with each grave given a code reference. The writing on each stone, often worn and hard to read, was deciphered by Cora.

I took Cora's list and built it into this website, designing and developing the searchable database you see here. Every grave was then photographed and added to the list.

Official records were also brought in from the Carrigtwohill Historical Society.
